Passive House Workshop

Do you want to learn more about achieving true sustainability when designing your home?

Designing your own home is a unique opportunity to fully consider all aspects of a sustainable build from the outset. Choosing to ‘design in’ – and more importantly ‘design out’ – fundamental elements saving on costly ‘retrofit’ solutions down the line.

Join us on Friday 5th April, 10 am – 2 pm, at the National Self Build and Renovation Centre, Gloucestershire/ Berkshire, for a FREE, engaging, and interactive passive house (passiv haus) workshop where we will delve into the fascinating subject of sustainable architecture when designing your own home.

What’s Involved ?

In this passive house workshop, we will explore crucial aspects of sustainable design, including:

  • Passive House lifestyle: What is it like living in a passive house.
  • ‘As built’ Vs ‘In-use’ carbon: Discussions on the difference between the two carbon measurements and learn how they impact your design decisions.
  • Architectural limitations: Explore the challenges and opportunities Architects face when striving to create truly sustainable living spaces considering sites and budgets.
  • Fabric first: Discuss the importance of the understanding the building fabric and high-performance windows.
  • Renewable energy: What are the options and what is realistic for your build?
